The University Chorale is the premiere undergraduate choral ensemble at UW and is know for its highly expressive performances and technical abilities. Entrance to this ensemble is based on the factors of strong vocal technique, strong sight-singing abilities and a willingness to work with others to obtain the highest possible standards.
The Chorale plays an active role in promoting the UW music department through frequent performances and community appearances, as well as a yearly tour. University Chorale made its debut with the Seattle Symphony, singing POPS concerts with Marvin Hamlisch and the Genesis Suite with Gerard Schwarz in 2008. They were an auditioned choir for the MENC Regional Conference in 2010, and the Chorale's first solo CD, Climb, is now available for purchase at CD Baby or from Dr. Wyers.
- Director: Dr. Giselle Wyers
- Rehearses on Mondays & Wednesdays from 3:30-5:20pm in Music 213, with an additional one-hour sectional (to be announced).
