The University Chorale is the premiere undergraduate choral ensemble at UW and is know for its highly expressive performances and technical abilities. Entrance to this ensemble is based on the factors of strong vocal technique, strong sight-singing abilities and a willingness to work with others to obtain the highest possible standards.
The Chorale plays an active role in promoting the UW music department through frequent performances and community appearances, as well as a yearly tour. Last year, the University Chorale made its debut with the Seattle Symphony, singing POPS concerts with Marvin Hamlisch and the Genesis Suite with Gerard Schwarz. During the 2008-09 academic year, University Chorale will debut numerous world premier choral works and will record their first solo CD.
