Only current faculty and students enrolled in music courses related to
choral music are eligible to check out music from the UW Choral Library.
Students may check out one copy of any musical selection. Checking out
additional copies requires departmental approval. If you are checking
out music for a conducting class, you may take additional copies for the
class period only. The music must be returned on the same day
following the class.
To check out music, follow the procedures listed below:
- Fill out a Music Check-Out Form found in the Choral Library notebook.
- List each copy you are checking out on this form.
- After your initial visit, you may use the same form to check out
subsequent copies. You may also use a continuation form if you run out
of room. Your form will be filed in the notebook alphabetically by last
name. You must fill out a new form each academic year.
To return music, follow the procedures listed below:
- Notify one of the teaching assistants that you are returning music. The TA will note this return in the Choral Library notebook. If you return music without notifying the choral librarian/TA first,
you will be responsible for replacing this music at current prices plus
fees.
- File the returned music yourself.
Music must be returned in the same condition it was in when
checked out. All markings must be erased. The cost of damaged music (beyond
normal wear) will be your responsibility.
