UW Symphony Orchestra
Director: Peter Erös
Website:
The University Symphony is an ensemble of more than 70 student musicians dedicated to exploring the classical, romantic and contemporary orchestral repertories under the direction of internationally-acclaimed conductor Peter Eros. The orchestra is comprised of the best string, wind and percussion players in the UW community, and performs in an average of four symphonic concerts and two operas each academic year in Meany Theater. Other special events during the season traditionally include a joint concert with the combined choruses of the School of Music, a concert featuring winners of the annual concerto competition, and occasional performances in area concert halls.
