Student Teaching

Student teaching at the University of Washington is the culminating field experience in which prospective teachers demonstrate their knowledge of subject matter, teaching methods, and child growth and development. This important experience occurs in an existing instructional setting of a local public or accredited private school and is supervised by qualified university faculty members, teaching assistants, and cooperating teachers. The student teaching experience is guided by principles and strategies prescribed by current research and theory in pre-service teacher education.
