Undergraduate Programs

The undergraduate Music Education program at the University of Washington is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to be successful and effective music teachers. As a music education major, students may elect either a vocal/general or instrumental/general concentration. Regardless of concentration, students will have opportunities to experience a broad range of music teaching and learning contexts. At the undergraduate level, the program leads to a combined Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Music degree. Upon completion of full-time student teaching, students will receive certification to teach music (grades K-12) in the State of Washington.
