The undergraduate Music Education program at the University of Washington
is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to
be successful and effective music teachers. As a music education major,
students may elect either a vocal/general or instrumental/general
concentration. Regardless of concentration, students will have
opportunities to experience a broad range of music teaching and learning
contexts. At the undergraduate level, the program leads to a combined
Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Music degree. Upon completion of full-time
student teaching, students will receive certification to teach music
(grades K-12) in the State of Washington.
